He is an artist, DJ, music curator, trainer, and author. With more than forty years of experience, he is one of the most recognized and respected voices in the industry and an undisputed leader in the professionalization of DJing in Spain. He integrates artistic creation, training, music curation, and dissemination. He is the CEO of Music Curator and the representative in Catalonia of the Spanish Association of DJs and Music Producers.
Artistic career and notable performances
Jordi has taken his musical talent to iconic venues such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau Sant Jordi, and the Paseo María Cristina during the La Mercè festivities in Barcelona. He has also been part of the electronic music scene at renowned venues such as Amnesia, Space, Café del Mar, Ushuaïa Beach Club, and Hard Rock Hotel in Ibiza.

His international career has taken him to countries such as Portugal, Andorra, Germany, Croatia, Dubai, and various destinations in Latin America. He was also the first Spanish DJ to perform at the Pyramids of Giza (Egypt), a milestone that reflects his ability to integrate identity, emotion, and narrative in any context.
He has been invited to create private sessions for artists such as U2 and Pearl Jam. He was the opening DJ on three dates of Lionel Richie's Say Hello to the Hits tour in Spain. He has also been the official DJ at the Formula 1 and MotoGP Grand Prix at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, consolidating his presence at events with international reach. He is currently an artistic director and resident DJ of the festival session Yo Bailé los 80s, a cult experience that pays tribute to the great dance anthems of the decade and reflects his passion for these classics. Music curation for brands and spaces
Her career as a music curator has developed steadily since 2010, creating identity and designing programmed or live musical atmospheres for spaces and events, with a special focus on the gastronomic sector. She has collaborated with companies that understand the strategic value of music as a tool for identity and as an essential part of consolidating a high level experience. Many of them have been recognized with distinctions such as Michelin stars, 50 Best, or stand out for the prestige inherent in their offerings, in countries such as Andorra, Lebanon, the Netherlands, Egypt, Dubai, the United States, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Mexico, and Chile.

In the field of sports, since 2012 he has led the music curation of the UEFA Champions Club at FC Barcelona's stadium, a role he has extended to some of the club's VIP lounges, integrating his curatorial vision into institutional and corporate hospitality environments.
Jordi was one of the first DJs in Spain to commit to creating sophisticated musical atmospheres, introducing genres such as Soulful House and high-quality Deep House. Today, as CEO of Music Curator, he leads this specialty from a deep human perspective: made by and for people, as a bridge between brands and their customers, activating the senses and generating differentiation, connection, and loyalty through music.
Commitment to professional training
In addition to his work in creating musical atmospheres, Jordi has maintained a constant commitment to professional training, contributing to the development of new generations of DJs. In 2020, he was called upon by the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Regional Government) to participate in the development of the draft decree that would establish the official intermediate vocational training qualification for Disc Jockeys, a key step towards the institutional recognition of this discipline as a formal training program.

Throughout his career, he has developed a solid track record as a lecturer, combining the transmission of technical knowledge with an artistic and human vision. He has given lectures at professional training institutions, private universities, and public programs in different formats, including the Flipart program of the Barcelona Provincial Council and the Medellín Music Week event in Colombia.

In parallel to his work as a lecturer, Jordi has been a teacher specializing in professional DJ training since 1993. He has accumulated more than 6,000 hours of teaching experience and has trained more than 3,000 students in various formats, including more than 250 master classes and workshops in Spain and Latin America.

Jordi Carreras played a fundamental role in the creation, development, and consolidation of Plastic as a benchmark brand in the training of DJs and music producers in Spain. He co founded the Plastic Academy for DJs and Producers in Barcelona in 1993 and led the institution during two key stages: from 1990 to 1998 and from 2010 to 2020. During this period, he was a teacher, head of studies and academic director, as well as the driving force behind the national expansion of the project through Plastic Academias S.L., creating the most important network of DJ academies in the country with branches in regions such as Asturias, Galicia, Granada, Donosti, Murcia, Tarragona and Valencia.

During his tenure, he created and developed the syllabuses for the Professional DJ, DJ Level 2 and Vinyl courses, introduced the Pioneer DJ brand into the educational and commercial spheres, and created the first technical recognition certificate for DJs endorsed by Pioneer DJ.

In addition, Jordi led the academy's communication, strategy, and marketing department between 2010 and 2018, serving as the voice and image of the tutorials, promotional spots, and community manager for all the brand's social media accounts.

At the same time, he developed experiential formats and educational activities such as Plastic Ibiza, “Be a DJ for a Day” (at events such as Sonar Kids, XD Young Fest and Extreme Barcelona), the Master Tempo championship, and professional courses for musicians, composers and authors, organized in collaboration with the SGAE and Fundación Autor.

He was also producer and director of the radio programs Plastic DJs Academy for Pioneer DJ Radio and Plastic Dreams for Ibiza Global Radio, maintaining an active link with the specialized media and the professional environment.

Between 2020 and 2025, through his role as trainer and content developer, he promoted the creation of fifteen specialized online courses and more than six hundred video lessons at Pro DJ Academy, covering the technical mastery of current tools, music mixing techniques, session planning, and strategies to promote job placement and artistic development for students.

Between 2012 and 2019, he was the face and voice of Pioneer DJ's official tutorial videos for the global Spanish-speaking market, as well as a product tester, trainer, and content manager for the brand's Facebook and YouTube platforms in Spain.

He has also remained connected to young talent as MC of the Hip Hop & Urban Dance Competition, Urban Display, and Rock Da House tour.
A leading figure in electronic music publishing:
Jordi was executive director of Deejay magazine for a decade, a leading Spanish-language publication for the electronic music industry. From this platform, he not only created space for communication between professionals, but also promoted values such as training, innovation, and recognition within the sector. During his tenure, the magazine was awarded the Ibiza DJ Award 2007 in the Media Award category, consolidating its prestige as an editorial benchmark in the sector, reaching 150,000 monthly readers.
From this same professional environment, Jordi promoted the creation of the Deejaymags Awards, the first official awards in the dance sector in Spain, backed by SGAE and Fundación Autor. This editorial project was a milestone for the visibility of the artistic and technical work of DJs, producers, and professionals in the electronic music scene.

As an author, he has published three specialized books: “Yo DJ II” (2012), “Yo DJ III” (2016) and ‘Deejay’ (2020) and has contributed to the books “DJ impulsa tu carrera” by David Gausa, “Toni Peret y sus hermanos en el ritmo” by David Cuevas and "El poder del DJ: The True Power of Sound" by David Amo.
Roots in radio and media
Jordi Carreras has been a radio professional since 1984. He began his career on local stations such as Nova Antena – La Veu de Martorell, Dial 107, Ràdio Martorell, Ràdio Abrera, Ràdio Esparreguera, and Ràdio Olesa de Montserrat, where he began to define his communicative style linked to music and DJ culture. Throughout his career, he has been part of leading radio stations such as Los 40 Principales, Cadena Nova, Popular FM, Cadena 100, Onda Rambla, Flaix FM, Loca FM, RAC 105, Interpop, and Ibiza Global Radio.
He has hosted iconic programs such as Music Show, Dance People, Privé, and Mary's Place, all of which are characterized by a loyal audience and a personal, recognizable radio approach that is aligned with his musical sensibility. In 2006, he was also a pioneer in the digital environment when he created Deejay FM Online, the first online radio station linked to a music magazine in Spain, anticipating the transformations in the consumption of music content on the internet. Today, he has around seven million plays on SoundCloud.
The art of mixing
During the 1980s and early 1990s, Jordi Carreras developed an outstanding career in DJ and megamixer competitions.

His achievements include: Third place in Catalonia in the DMC World DJ Championships in the Spanish phase in 1987. Runner-up in Catalonia and fourth in Spain in the DMC World DJ Championships in the Spanish phase in 1988. Third place in Catalonia in the DMC World DJ Championships in the Spanish phase in 1989. Runner-up in Spain in Tele 5's DJ competition on the program “La quinta marcha” in 1991, and in 2018 he received the Discoteca Records award for his professional contribution to the world of music.

A direct disciple of Mike Platinas, as a megamixer, mixer, and remixer, he has released around 25 tracks, including El Bimix, Sábado Noche (Radio Mix), Puzzletron, and Supermix 2 and 3 for the Portuguese label Vidisco. He was also the creator in Spain of the first vinyl collections of Beats & Scratches called Club Beats. Between 1990 and 1993, he was the DJ for the rap group BZN Mcs and was chosen to record the album Real Beach Sounds vol 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 for the Deep and Soulful house label, Epoque Music Label.
